Recently, the new Smart Forfour mule was spied testing, and the automaker plans to release its new compact four-seater by 2014.

The automaker is looking to recreate its brand with an all-new two-seater coming next year, and the new Forfour in 2014. As we mentioned before, the new models are being co-developed with Renault and both cars will be equipped with a three-cylinder developed with the French automaker.

The engine will be rear-mounted and is expected to be turbocharged with direct injection, and expected to be based on the 89-hp engine found in the new Clio. In Europe, the new Forfour will replace the outgoing Renault Twingo. Electric variants of the new models will come later on.
