The sales numbers are in for April 2013, and we’ve compiled a list of the top 10 best-selling cars for last month.

Kicking off the list is the Hyundai Elantra with a starting MSRP of $16,965. The compact model from the Korean automaker saw 45.2 percent more sales this year than last in the month of April, and has sold 78,991 units so far this year. It’s worth noting that 25 percent of Elantra sales come from the Coupe and Elantra GT hatchback models, which weren’t available last year.

In ninth place is the Ford Escape which moved 25,826 units last month. The redesigned crossover has been doing well since it first hit dealerships and saw a 52-percent growth compared to April 2012. In total, 98,809 Escapes have been sold this year and with its price starting from $22,470 we can see why it’s one of the best-selling cars in April.

The redesigned Honda Civic has brought back some luster to the brand’s popular model having sold 26,453 units in April 2013. That’s an 8.3 percent increase over last year’s and 2013’s total so far is at 98,712 for the Japanese automaker. The 2013 Honda Civic has a starting price of $18,165.

Next on the list is the Honda CR-V which has seen 26,519 units move off dealership lots last month. A modest 12.2 percent increase compared to last year with the year’s total tally coming in at 91,893. Both the Civic and the CR-V year-to-date sales have actually decreased compared to last year, but both enjoyed growth in the month of April. With a starting MSRP of $22,795, it appears that the CR-V remains more popular than the Ford Escape.

The Ford Fusion is proving to be one hot sedan for the American automaker. Sales figures for April came in at 26,722 and reflected a 23.7 percent increase compared to 2012. The Fusion has been a hot seller all year long, with year-to-date figures in 2013 coming in at 25.4 percent higher than 2012. A total of 107,280 Fusions have been sold so far in 2013, undoubtedly bringing a smile on Ford’s face. The attractive Fusion starts at $21,900 but still has a lot of ground to make up to be a viable competitor to some of the popular Japanese sedans.

The Ram Pickup model lineup came in fifth place for last month with 31,409 total trucks sold. That’s a very impressive 48.7 percent increase compared to April 2012 and Ram has had a strong year so far having sold 109,003 vehicles. The Ram 1500 starts at $22,640 while the Ram 3500 starts at $29,905.

One of the world’s most popular sedans is fourth on the list, but even more disappointing for Toyota is that the Camry’s sales have nosedived compared to last year. Though 31,710 units is a figure other automakers would die for, that number is actually 13.9 percent less than last year. As for 2013, the Camry has struggled compared to last year, having sold 132,540 units total – a 6.8 percent decreased compared to 2012. The Toyota Camry has a starting price of $22,235 and is rated at 25 mpg in the city, 35 mpg on the highway.

The Honda Accord is another model that saw a dip in April sales when looking back to 2012. Sales for April have dropped 5.2 percent this year to 33,538 units. But the Accord has been doing well throughout the year, seeing 121,965 vehicles being driven off dealership lots. That’s a 26.4 percent increase compared to last year. The all-new 2013 Accord starts from $21,680.

The Chevrolet Silverado enjoyed great sales last month, but it was only good enough to notch it a second place spot on the list. 39,395 total Silverados were sold in April 2013, marking a 28.1 percent increase compared to 2012. All-in-all, Chevrolet has sold 156,044 Silverados so far this year, a 23.5 percent increase compared to 2012. The all-new 2014 Silverado 1500 starts at $31,715 while a Silverado Hybrid can be had for $41,135. There’s also the 2013 Silverado 2500HD that is cheaper at $29,550 while the 2013 Silverado 3500HD has a MSRP of $31,045.

Last (or really first), but not least (definitely not least), the Ford F-Series tops the list of best-selling cars in April 2013. A total of 59,030 F-Series were sold last month, making it a landslide victory for the American automaker. The F-Series sales has increased 24.4 percent compared to April 2012, and year-to-date sales tally up to 227,873 – a 19.1 percent difference compared to 2012. The new 2013 Ford F-150 starts at $23,955 and is available in 10 models. The top-of-the-line Limited has a MSRP of $51,185 – so there’s plenty in between for every buyer.

Dang. the Altima went from top of its class to not even in the top 10. Glad to see Toyota loyalists looking at other brands!
