Cadillac is planning to scrap the laurel wreaths that surround its crest for a refreshed badge that will debut in Pebble Beach next month.

According to a report from Automotive News, General Motors will likely show the badge for the first time on a concept car coming to the Concours d’Elegance. However, it won’t appear on production vehicles until at least the 2015 model year.

Cadillac trying to leave its traditional image behind, introducing cars like the ATS, redesigned CTS and plug-in hybrid ELR. Decide for yourself how heavily the brand’s badge weighs on its image, but this is hardly the first time Cadillac has made a logo switch. In fact, it’s happened almost 40 times.

Cadillac is expected to bring a concept preview of its new flagship sedan, which would be a logical way to debut the new emblem.

Keep on ditching tradition, Cadillac and make our older Cadillacs even better classics. I love it!
