The 2014 Mercedes-Benz E250 BlueTEC has been EPA-estimated to get 28 mpg in the city and 45 mpg on the highway.
The E250 BlueTEC is also the German automaker’s first diesel E-Class model to offer 4MATIC all-wheel drive, which does cut fuel efficiency to 27 mpg in the city and 42 mpg on the highway. Regardless, the E250 BlueTEC achieves best-in-class fuel efficiency for a midsize luxury sedan and for the entire industry in the same size range.
The E250 BlueTEC is powered by a turbo-diesel engine with 195 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The model is also the new price-leader in the E-Class lineup, starting from $52,325 including a delivery fee of $925.
