Now that the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan has been officially revealed, the German automaker touched on the future of the model and its variants.

According to Mercedes, the C-Class will be produced in four more body styles: coupe, convertible, wagon and five-door hatchback. The coupe and convertible models are tentatively scheduled to make their launch in 2016 while the wagon will not be heading to the U.S. despite rival BMW offering a 3 Series wagon.

But perhaps Mercedes feels that it can satisfy the needs of its consumers with the five-door hatchback model that could be green lit for North American sales. Aimed to compete with the Audi A5 and the BMW 3 Series GT, a five-door C-Class hatchback could even satisfy the needs for certain wagon shoppers.
