2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Gets Mixed Safety Rating

The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee has received mixed safety ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The two-wheel-drive model received a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA while the four-wheel-drive model earned a five-star overall safety rating. The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT has yet to be rated by NHTSA.

In NHTSA’s testing, the two-wheel-drive model got five stars in the front crash test and the side crash test while it only earned three stars in the rollover crash test. The four-wheel-drive model meanwhile earned five stars in the front and side crash tests but was awarded four stars in the rollover crash test.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee was also an IIHS Top Safety Pick last year and so far has received “good” ratings on all of the IIHS’s crash tests.
