2015 Mazda CX-5 Earns NHTSA Five-Star Safety Rating

The 2015 Mazda CX-5 has received the highest overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Japanese automaker’s crossover has been awarded a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA and applies to both the front- and all-wheel drive models. The carryover model earned five stars in both the front and side crash tests, but four stars in the rollover crash test. Though the 2015 model year CX-5 has yet to be rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), but is expected to also be a Top Safety Pick because the 2014 model earned “good” scores on all the tests including the small overlap frontal test.

Standard safety equipment on the 2015 Mazda CX-5 include antilock brakes, electronic stability control and daytime running lights. The 2015 Mazda CX-5 is priced from $22,375 including destination.
