Dodge just announced that the world premier of its “next ultimate performance vehicle” will take place during the Woodward Dream Cruise on August 13.

The company sent invitations to an unveiling event to take place over the weekend where Dodge will continue to mark its 100th anniversary. Rumors about its plan to debut a Hellcat-powered version of the updated sedan at the event began spreading late last month. Specific confirmation that the vehicle set to debut is, in fact, the supercharged Charger wasn’t a part of the e-mail and it’s true that it could theoretically be something else.

For example, the company showed its Rumble Bee performance truck last year. But the invitation specified that this is Dodge’s next performance product and judging by the five-year plan Chrysler outlined for SRT earlier this year, the Charger seems like an obvious pick to be on deck for a performance boost. Then again, the company also confirmed SRT versions of the Dart and Journey without giving a specific timeline for any of those vehicles. The Charger makes the most sense because the Challenger – its coupe sibling – was just revealed with the 707-hp blown V8.
