The Aston Martin Lagonda has begun hot weather testing in Oman.

The British automaker’s sedan will take part in a four-week testing cycle and will be travelling around 500 miles per day in hopes of logging 14,000 test miles in high heat. Temperatures in the Arabian desert are expected to hit around 120-degrees Fahrenheit and the company purposely gave its Lagonda prototype a black paint job to attract more heat. According to Aston Martin, an hours-long soak test will bring surface temperature of the interior to around 175 degrees.

Unfortunately the company stayed mum on details of what’s powering the Lagonda, but it’s expected that the brand’s popular 6.0-liter V12 engine lurks under the hood. Rumor has it that it could be powered by one of the AMG powerplants that Aston Martin is sourcing which is a turbocharged eight-cylinder.

The Aston Martin Lagonda will be strictly limited to the Middle East, so don’t expect to see it on U.S. soil anytime soon.
