Back when Cadillac proposed that the new Escalade would be built on the Lambda crossover platform, Escalade owners reportedly hated the idea and was the main reason why Cadillac shelved the plan. In a way, the Escalade nameplate has a rich history to it, known for its luxurious prowess, towing capabilities and the fact that it’s a body-on-frame SUV. As a result Cadillac acknowledges that it wouldn’t be a good move to change the Escalade name, especially since it’s the brand’s current halo model.
