We knew the Tesla Model S P85D was fast, but its torque figure might shock you.

When the Model S P85D first debuted, the American electric automaker bragged about its impressive 0-60 mph time of 3.2 seconds and 691 hp, but stayed relatively mum about its torque figure. Without an official figure from Tesla, it’s no surprise that curious owners want to know just how much torque the all-wheel drive electric vehicle is pushing out which means a trip to the dyno.

Strapping down a Model S P85D to a Mustang 4WD dyno, DragTimes is reporting that the electric sedan peaked out at 864 lb-ft of torque after a few attempts of spinning the tires due to the instant torque of the electric motors. It should just be a matter of time before more owners hit the track with the P85D and some quarter-mile times start hitting the forums.
