Hyundai is recalling over 26,000 Genesis cars in North America.

The Korean automaker has announced that the 2015 Hyundai Genesis is being recalled due to an issue where water can leak into the rear combination lamp assemblies, causing an incorrect gear display on the instrument panel or a delay in the engagement of the selected gear when the vehicle is shifted from Park to Reverse or Drive.

In order to remedy the issue, Hyundai dealerships will install pads to prevent water from getting into the lamp. The issue could result in unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of a crash.

Hyundai first received a report of the problem in September with another in November, prompting an investigation. No crashes or injuries related to the issue have been reported and the recall affects 24,400 cars in the U.S. and 1,900 in Canada. Owners should expect to be notified sometime in April.
