BMW 1 Series Sedan Spied Winter Testing

BMW’s newest sedan model is taking shape.

The German automaker was caught winter testing its new 1 Series, a front-wheel drive entry-level offering that is planned to be released sometime next year. The 1 Series sedan will target the Mercedes-Benz CLA and Audi A3, though it is a bit late to the market compared to these rivals.

Despite the fact that its front-wheel-drive configuration might turn away some die-hard customers expect BMW to offer an all-wheel-drive xDrive variant to appease enthusiasts. Powering the 1 Series sedan will be turbocharged three- and four-cylinder engines.
