2016 Ford F-150 Adds Trailer Backup Assist
Ford is introducing a new way for drivers of the 2016 F-150 to backup a trailer.
Ford’s new Pro Trailer Backup Assist is operated using a knob in the dash which controls the direction of the trailer, thus removing the need for the driver to use the steering wheel. When activated, the truck’s speed and steering are controlled automatically while the driver uses the knob to direct the trailer.
Backing up a trailer can be a tricky process, as you must steer the vehicle in the opposite direction you want the trailer to travel. The knob control should help to avoid this steering confusion.
The new feature will be available with the 2016 F-150 starting in the winter of 2015. Orders can be placed for the truck starting this summer.

If they can't figure out which way to turn the wheel, why would they be able to figure out which way to turn the dial?
