Pricing for the hot Alfa Romeo 4C Spider has been announced just in time for the warmer weather with an out the door price of $65,495 including destination.

According to Alfa Romeo, the mid-engined Italian roadster will arrive in customers hands as soon as August and will be offered with a number of options that help it ooze even more sex appeal.

Buyers can add a carbon fiber removable top, carbon fiber roll bar, a track package or even an optional performance exhaust system to their Italian roadster. In all the car is just 20 pounds heavier than its coupe counterpart and tips the scales at 2,487 lbs.

Mounted in the middle of the car is a 1.75-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 237 hp. That motor is mated to a six-speed dual clutch transmission which helps the car hit 60 mph in 4.1 seconds.

“Spiders have always been at the very core of the ‘Great Alfa Romeos,’ and our all-new 4C Spider builds on the brand’s motorsport and technology heritage for an open-air experience that is pure driving exhilaration,” said Reid Bigland, Head of Alfa Romeo North America, in the announcement. “From its track-proven 1750 turbocharged engine, to its hand-laid carbon fiber monocoque chassis, the 4C Spider takes the innovation and ingenuity of the 4C and delivers an open-air experience without sacrificing any of its supercar-level performance and capability.”

What we really like about the new Spider is that it ditches the awkward headlight design of the original Coupe and sports more traditional looking lamps.

Like the 4C Coupe, the Spider uses no power steering and offers air conditioning as a no cost option.
