The fourth-generation 2017 Kia Sportage made its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Sporting an all-new look with a slightly longer body than the current model, the 2017 Kia Sportage also has improved aerodynamics and more legroom and headroom for passengers. Kia announced that the Sportage will launch with a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine as well as a turbocharged variant that will be exclusive to the Sportage R-Line model. There is also a 2.0-liter diesel engine, although it’s unclear whether it will make its way to the U.S.

Expect a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder to join the lineup in the U.S. paired to a seven-speed-dual clutch transmission thanks to its combination of power and fuel efficiency. The 2017 Kia Sportage has been confirmed to launch in Europe starting in spring of 2016 and details on its U.S. arrival is expected to be announced later this year. For now, check out a first look video of the next-generation crossover below.
