2018 Ford Expedition Resembles F-150 SUV in Spy Photos
A mule for the 2018 Ford Expedition has been spied testing.
This mule is fit with an F-150 front end and cab, though when the production version of the Expedition debuts it will have some of its own styling. It was likely the easiest option for Ford to graft on the F-150 front end because the body panels of the new full-size SUV will also be made with aluminum, helping it to shed pounds.

Under the hood, the 3.5-liter EcoBoost turbocharged V6 will almost certainly be on offer, while the smaller 2.7-liter EcoBoost offered in the F-150 is another likely option.
On the inside, features and design of the Expedition will likely closely mirror what is seen in the F-150, including the use of Sync 3 infotainment.
Expect the new 2018 Ford Expedition along with the new Lincoln Navigator it will spawn to show up in sometime in 2017.

I think what is mentioned here is logical, the same concept that Toyota follows to convert the Hilux into Fortuner, It is easier for Ford as a company to just cover the trunk of the F-150 to make it an Expedition and name it 2017, there is no much effort needed from Ford Engineers here. Moreover, The Expedition has always been an F-150 but a trunk-covered one to become an SUV, so why not to repeat the same scenario here. Let me guess, the new F-150 Aluminum bodied weighs xxx ibs, believe it or not, the new Expedition will weight as much plus the upper cover weight that will be used to convert it into SUV (An Expedition). I only have doubts weather Ford will maintain the same F-150 headlights, that will likely change so it doesn't all look the same including the new Raptor, Expect nothing more.
