An extremely rare 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B STi is being auctioned by Silverstone Auctions this month.

With just 2,500 miles on the odometer, this particular 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B STi has only one registered owner from new, the legendary British boxer Prince Naseem Hamed. The Subaru Impreza 22B STi was limited to 400 units worldwide and it is believed that all of them were sold out in just 30 minutes.

The 22B model was introduced in 1998 to celebrate Subaru’s 40th anniversary in addition to its third consecutive win in the FIA World Rally Championship. Special design features from the Peter Stevens’ designed rally car inspired the 22B, including a flared widebody, unique hood, front and rear bumpers and a one-off adjustable rear wing. Of course there’s also the “555” blue paint shade.

Powered by a 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine, the 22B boasts 280 horsepower and is capable of going zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. Along with Subaru’s signature all-wheel drive, the STi also benefits from Bilstein suspension and a twin-plate ceramic clutch.

“We’re delighted to be offering such an iconic car in the May Sale,” said Nick Whale, managing director of Silverstone Auctions. “These Imprezas come to market exceptionally infrequently and very few exist in the UK. The lucky new owner will have a lot of fun driving it as well as a very secure investment.”

The particular unit being auctioned off is numbered 307 of 400 and is estimated to sell for £60,000 to £70,000 ($86,845 to $101,320).
