Which subcompact performance hatchback would YOU rather park in your garage, the MINI Cooper S Hardtop or Ford Fiesta ST?

Well, now’s your chance to let the world know which model you prefer by voting in our latest poll! Each of these small cars offers plenty of speed and even an unexpected amount of practicality.

Starting off with the MINI, it’s motivated by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that puts out 189 horses and 207 lb-ft of torque. A manual or automatic transmission is available, both have six forward speeds.

When the Cooper S Hardtop is equipped with a row-your-own gearbox they weigh about 2,785 pounds, rather much for a MINI, no? Either way, they should hit 60 miles an hour from a standstill in the mid-six-second range.

As for the Fiesta ST, it features a 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine that’s slightly more power-dense than its rival, delivering 197 horses and 202 lb-ft of twist, all from nearly half a liter less displacement. Unlike the MINI, only one transmission is available in this Ford, a proper six-speed stick.

Comparing weight, the Ford is actually slightly lighter than the least massive Cooper S Hardtop, tipping the scales at a claimed 2,742 pounds, this is despite being more than eight inches longer and a couple inches taller.

And with that, we’re done here. All that’s left to do is for you to vote in our poll! However, if you need a little more information on each of these vehicles, please compare them directly right here.

The ford may be reasonable to drive, but it's a ford. Cheap materials, cheap build quality. Enjoy those rattles and shakes and other assorted reliability issues. On top of that-It's a trashy. It's a chav car. I suppose that explains why everyone that has one buys them still wears fake Burberry caps and watches their DVD of Green Street every weekend. Losers. :)
