Houston, we have no problems whatsoever.

The Millionth Miata Celebration Tour touched down on lucky stop 13 of its cross-country tour this weekend, drawing out local fans to Grand Sport Speedway.

And the draw was more than just the millionth Miata, as this stop also marked a crossroads for the event where it overlapped with the MX-5 Experience – another Mazda event that’s been crisscrossing the country all summer.

Those who braved the repeated torrential downpours didn’t just get the opportunity to see and sign the car, they also got a chance to drive the 2016 Mazda MX-5, testing their skills at a braking and slalom course, as well as on track, behind the wheel. And Mazda even brought out a few pro drivers to give hot laps, including Liam Dwyer – a former Marine Staff Sgt. who overcame adversity in losing his leg to an IED in Afghanistan and who now races for the Freedom Autosport team in the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Series.

Helping give back to the Miata community, AutoGuide made this event a special one for one Mazda fan. One of the original members of our forum ClubRoadster.net, Adam Wolf has been posting on the forum since 2006, amassing over 11,000 posts. An Albuquerque, NM native, we flew him in to Houston for the complete Mazda experience. (Look for a video on Adam’s day with Mazda coming soon).

The Millionth Miata Celebration Tour continues this weekend with stops in Austin today and Dallas on Sunday. And be sure to share all the photos you’re taking of your favorite Mazda MX-5 Miatas here and on Instagram using the #MX5Movement hashtag.
