Toyota Supra Sheds Some Camo to Reveal More of Coupe’s Design

The Toyota Supra has been caught on camera conducting winter testing.

The upcoming new sports car from the Japanese automaker is a sister car to the BMW Z5, which spy photographers also recently snapped photos of. And like the BMW Z5, Toyota’s Supra has dropped a little bit of camouflage to show off some more of its production body, which is looking sportier than ever. It is believed the BMW Z5 will only be available as a roadster, while the Supra will exclusively be offered as a coupe.

The latest set of photos show the Supra’s stylish lines with short overhangs and large air intakes in the front bumper, hinting at some serious performance under the hood. We also get a better look at how the rear tail lights will shape out with the cutouts exposed, but they’re still not the real deal underneath all the camouflage.

Expect both four- and six-cylinder engines to power the Toyota Supra, borrowed from BMW. But it’s also likely that Toyota will drop some of its electrified powertrain to make it a hybrid, as spy photographers noted some prototypes sound like they were operating in an all-electric mode.
