BMW has a small recall for an oil leak issue in certain 7 Series models that affects 97 units in the U.S.

Included in the recall are BMW M760Li xDrive sedans from the 2017 and 2018 model years, and according to BMW, the engine oil cooler lines may loosen, causing an oil leak in the engine compartment. The leaked oil could get onto the front brakes, lengthening the distance needed to stop the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.

The issue involves an improperly crimped line that was discovered “in the field.” No accidents or injuries related to the issue are known, but BMW is recalling the sedans as a precaution.

The recall will begin June 1, 2017, and BMW dealers will inspect the engine oil cooler lines and replace them as necessary, free of charge.
