Mercedes G-Class Goes High Style With New Special Editions

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class, otherwise known as the most capable off-roader that never sees the dirt, has some new special editions to keep all the fashionistas in Beverly Hills happy.

Available on the G350d and G500, the new Designo Manufaktur Edition features an assortment of high-quality appointments with numerous exterior features finished in black, contrasting the three shades the model is available in: Designo Magma Red, Designo Mystic White and Obsidian Black. The AMG five-spoke 19-inch wheels are also finished in black along with the inserts in the side rub strips. The radiator grille, exterior mirrors and wheel cover also feature an Obsidian Black finish.

The interior adds more luxury with black Designo nappa leather with color-coordinated red topstitching. The two-tone black and red shade can also be found on the AMG Performance steering wheel, while trim is highlighted in black Design piano lacquer. Providing more contrast in the cabin are red Designo seat belts. Rounding off the interior upgrades are black leather grab handles and the exclusive “Designo Manufaktur Edition” badge on the center console.

Standard equipment on the Designo Manufaktur Edition include the Exclusive Package, Sport Package and Chrome Package.

The Exclusive Edition model is available on the G63 and G65 AMG models, featuring model-specific stainless steel underguard, AMG sport strips on the sides, rub strip inserts finished in a dark aluminum look and a paint-matched spare wheel cover. On all four corners are 21-inch AMG wheels and shoppers can choose from an exclusive AMG Monza Grey Magno paint finish.

Standard interior appointments on the Exclusive Edition include the Designo Exclusive Package with a two-tone, leather-lined dash and AMG sport seats with two-tone leather upholstery. Shoppers can choose from two-tone Designo nappa leather in six colors, or as an alternative two-tone seats in Designo nappa leather in three colors with side seat bolsters finished in black carbon leather. No matter the choice, the seat and door center panels are in a diamond pattern. There’s also the choice of AMG Carbon or black Designo piano lacquer trim.

The German automaker says the special edition models will enjoy their market launch in September.
