Ford is claiming the 2018 Super Duty is America’s most powerful and capable heavy-duty pickup truck.

The 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel engine has been upgraded for the 2018 model year, adding 10 horsepower and 10 pound-feet of torque compared to last year’s model. That gives the 2018 Ford Super Duty best-in-class 450 hp and 935 lb-ft of torque, along with 34,000 pounds of gooseneck towing when properly equipped. In addition, the Super Duty also has best-in-class 21,000-lb conventional hitch towing and 7,360-lb payload capacity.

Helping enhance performance on the engine are redesigned cylinder heads for added strength under higher loads, along with optimized fuel and turbo boost calibrations to take advantage of the increased cylinder head capacity.

There’s also more choice for shoppers, with the new F-450 Super Duty 4×2 dual-rear-wheel truck now available for both retail and fleet customers. The pickup delivers best-in-class 34,000 lbs of gooseneck towing capacity, thanks to its high-strength steel box frame and integrated gooseneck hitch mounts.

The 2018 Ford F-450 Super Duty 4×2 dual-rear-wheel pickup heads to dealers this winter and will be available in XL, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum trim levels. Pricing starts from $52,830 including destination.

I think we hit the silly point on this about 5 years ago, before yours or this test vehicle . Whatever on the nanny. Both yours and the newest yours pull stuff to hell and back. I got it, I get it, and I will get it when one of the big Three takes the crown yet again next year. What a bunch of marketing crap.
