Tesla Model 3 Gets Odometer, FM Radio and TPM in OTA Update

The Tesla Model 3 has received a working odometer and FM radio through an over-the-air update, reports indicate.

According to InsideEVs, Tesla had shipped early examples of the Model 3 to owners without a working odometer and without FM radio, but those features (if you want to even call them that) have now become available through an OTA update. The automaker was apparently pulling videos from the internet that owners had taken of their Model 3 so the public wouldn’t see the vehicles in an “unfinished” state.

Other “features” Tesla added to the Model 3 with the latest OTA update included a tire pressure monitor and an energy consumption application. The lack of these features was apparently due to the in-car user interface not being complete, but with this OTA, it’s taken one step closer to being representative of the finished system. Fittingly, it seems this update has arrived just in time for customers who are non-Tesla employees to take delivery of their Model 3s.

Update: a Tweet from a Tesla enthusiast on Twitter indicates the Model 3 had an odomter all along, and this update added a trip meter:

Odometer has always been there by pressing T on top of screen like all Tesla’s: (pic from DÆrik). They added a trip meter. pic.twitter.com/aJIFM125nv
