Lexus has previewed a possible future flagship crossover for the brand at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show.

Called the Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept, it might hint at what the next-generation Lexus LX could look like, or it could be an entirely new addition to the brand’s lineup. Currently, the flagship LX is one of the only remaining body-on-frame SUVs left, while the Limitless Concept is a crossover so it’s unclear which direction Lexus is going to go.

The Japanese automaker is keeping relatively quiet on the powertrain in the LF-1 Limitless Concept, but it does ride on a rear-wheel-drive chassis. But considering Lexus is aiming to have every model be available as a hybrid or fully electric by 2025, it’s likely the production LF-1 Limitless will be electrified.

2018 Detroit Auto Show Coverage

Designed by the CALTY Design Research team in California, the LF-1 Limitless Concept boasts the brand’s spindle grille, massive 22-inch wheels, aggressive fenders, an imposing stance, and sharp creases. Don’t be surprised to see if some of the design language to trickle down to other Lexus models in the future.

Inside the concept is an ultra luxurious interior filled with high-tech features. A touchpad can be found in the leather-covered center console, while a four-dimensional navigation system can also act as a concierge for occupants.

I'm sorry but the Darth Vadar front end needs to go on the whole line. It just looks odd.
