The all-new Mercedes-Benz G-Class will make its world premiere at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show.

The German automaker has released a short teaser video confirming the new G-Class will debut on January 15, 2018. Promoting #strongerthantime, Mercedes says the G-Class has formed its own character over the generations, becoming a timeless vehicle that has become a legend through the years. And now, with the next-generation model on the horizon, Mercedes wants to reinforce that it will retain its DNA when the new model rolls out later this year.

The video, which is clearly inspired by Jurassic Park, shows a classic G-Class encased in an amber cube to deliver a short and simple message. And based on recent spy photos of the G-Class, don’t expect any significant changes to the SUV’s exterior considering how iconic its design has become over the years. It should however, ride on a new platform that is lighter than its predecessor. The cabin however, should receive noticeable changes with new high-tech features similar to what’s found in the E-Class and S-Class models.
