The Volkswagen Arteon has been confirmed for the US and will debut at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show.

The Arteon’s arrival in the US was confirmed by VW at the Detroit auto show this past week. There had been rumors the German fastback was slated for a Chicago debut in December of last year, but now we know for sure that the Audi A7 Sportback-based VW is headed to North America.

The Arteon, which serves as a replacement for the stylish Volkswagen CC, was first shown at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show last March. It debuted with three gas engine options, a 150 hp 1.5-liter turbo and a 190 or 280 hp 2.0-liter turbo. VW’s 2.0-liter TDI will also be available on European models, but won’t appear in the US. It rides on VW Group’s MQB platform that serves in pretty much everything, including the Golf and Atlas.

We’ll have more information on the US spec Arteon once it debuts in Chicago in early February.

Sweet! I like this car and looking forward to seeing it up close for real. I owned a 2010 CC (my daughter has it now) and very pleased with it.
