You Can Now Make Your McLaren 570GT More Like a 570S

McLaren has added more packages and option choices across its Sport Series range, giving buyers more choice.

The British automaker has introduced new features and enhancements to its Coupe and GT models, helping align them with the 570S Spider launched last year. The 2018 McLaren 570GT gets the most changes, with carbon-ceramic brake discs now standard, and a Sport Pack that allows 570GT customers to get the same dynamic settings as the 570S Coupe and Spider.

With softer springs and a two-percent reduction in steering ratio for improved stability at higher speeds, the McLaren 570GT offers a more relaxed driving experience than the 570S. But some owners want the best of both worlds, requesting the sharper, more precisely dynamic behavior of the 570S to be available on the GT bodystyle.

The answer is the 570GT Sport Pack, which features a number of component and calibration changes. According to McLaren, the steering rack, damp actuators, and uprights are the same as the ones found on the 570S Coupe and Spider models, while the adaptive damping, steering, and Electronic Stability Control are the same “S” tune. Along with Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires that are included in the package, the driving experience is the same as the 570S Coupe and Spider, but in the GT.

Other new options announced include an electrochromic roof with driver-controlled variable tint, developed by McLaren Special Operations. There are also five new Design Edition Packs introduced for the 570GT, which combine popular exterior colors with McLaren luxury design interior that best complement them. The new Design Editions are: Silica White exterior with Saddle Tan and Carbon Black interior, Pacific Blue with Jet Black and Areia (cream), Blade Silver with Natural Tan and Carbon Black, Fire Black with Jet Black and Areia, and Storm Grey with Jet Black and Almond White.

That also means new exterior colors have been added to the lineup, taken from the 570S Spider: Curacao Blue, Vega Blue, and Sicilian Yellow. The company has also added a new lightweight 10-spoke forged alloy wheel and Liquid Black finish on the brake calipers.

The Track Pack for the 570S continues on, but with the addition of an increased choice of six Alcantara By McLaren Designer Sport Interiors. Lastly, the 12mm taller rear spoiler introduced last year with the Track Pack is now standard on all Sport Series Coupe models.
