GFG Style has teamed up with China’s Envision to create the Sibylla, which will make its debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.

This is the second project from GFG Style, a company formed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and his son, Fabrizio, after they severed ties with the Volkswagen Group. Like its first project, the Techrules Ren electric supercar, GFG Style has once again partnered with a Chinese company for the Sibylla. This time it’s an energy management company called Envision, which contributed with its EnOS energy IoT platform.

Essentially, the companies are saying the Sibylla is an “intelligent green car power plant,” adding that a car with a 75 kWh battery stores as much electricity as an average European household uses in a week. By using EnOS, the Sibylla not only connects to a network of renewable assets, but can communicate and store energy with other vehicles, homes, and buildings.

The name was chosen in reference to the figure from Latin mythology endowed with the ability to provide answers and predict the future. It’s also a fitting tribute to Giorgetto’s mother, named Maria Sibilla.

As a four-seater, all-wheel-drive concept, the Sibylla draws inspiration from low-slung cars designed in the 1960s and 1970s. It features a forward-hinged front canopy, similar to the 1963 Chevrolet Testudo that Giugiaro also penned. Measuring over 16.4 feet (5 meters) long, the design of the concept lacks an A-pillar making it extremely easy to get in and out of the car.

It also features the world’s first sliding windscreen front section, with the expansive windshield dome moving forward, sliding at the center, and opening into the space for the driver and passenger.

Powertrain details are light, but it does feature four electric motors placed on the two axles. The concept is interesting, because unlike past electric car concepts, the Sibylla doesn’t focus on an absurd amount of horsepower and torque. Instead, it has some interesting design elements that we can’t wait to see in person at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show next week.
