The 2019 Subaru Forester will debut later this month, and the Japanese automaker has given us a sneak peek at the new crossover ahead of its unveiling.

Subaru released a darkened image today showing a portion of one of the 2019 Forester’s taillights. The lights take on a backward c-shape, with a section of the hatch appearing to protrude into the lights. This will probably be one of the more exciting styling features on the car – Subaru’s not known to go too crazy with design, and the mildly-styled Ascent is probably our best indicator of how the 2019 Forester will look.

The revised Forester will ride on the Subaru Global Platform, which also appears in products like the Impreza and XV Crosstrek. As always with Subaru, you can expect a four-cylinder boxer engine Lineartronic CVT transmission to be on the table, along with its Symmetrical All Wheel Drive system. You can also expect the latest version of the Starlink infotainment system to make an appearance, along with its EyeSight suite of active safety technologies.

The 2019 Subaru Forester will debut on March 28th. AutoGuide.com will be reporting live from the show, so check back for full on-site coverage on the 2019 Forester.

As subaru gets more popular they have become more boring...trying to appeal to the mass with boring designs. They have ignore the true subaru loyal costumers with crap, they got rid of the hoodscoope in the XT stating "viability" that's a load of crap. the real reason is because it looks too sporty for the grandmas that are driving it now. my 2003 XT has more power and style than my 2012 XT and the SJ forester looks like crap, I give them that they improved the interior cause the SH was pure crap...everywhere, the hard plastic dash, the crappiest speakers (my sisters prius C had better sound system than my $30k plus Top of the line XT with "subwoofer"), the road noise...

I've owned all three Foresters, 2006, 2012, and now a 2018. They're all crap in a way that they get rid of something to improve another thing. Subaru's way of things; we have four eggs of options, but we can only allow you to hold two eggs at a time.
