The Honda Civic Type R is now $600 more expensive.

As of May 1st, the Honda Civic Type R will carry an MSRP of $35,595 including destination – representing a $600 dollar increase over its previous retail price of $34,990. That extra five dollars, in case you’re wondering, is from the $5 more expensive destination charge.

Apart from this small price change, the Civic Type R remains unchanged from before. The vehicle is available with virtually no optional extras, save add-on accessories such as a carbon fiber rear wing, carbon mirror covers and body side molding.

Despite this price bump, the Civic Type R still undercuts its remaining segment rivals, the Volkswagen Golf R and Subaru WRX STI, which start at $39,785 and $36,095, respectively.
