Watch: Duct Tape Spare Tire Not as Bad an Idea as It Sounds

Scenario: You’ve got a flat tire. You don’t have a spare because weight savings.

You have an inexplicable amount of duct tape and a lot of time on your hands. McGyvering it is your only option.

That’s not at all the scenario the guys in the video below found themselves in, but these brave researchers left no stone unturned in their pursuit of knowledge. By adding around 50 rolls of duct tape to a bare rim, they managed to make a pretty solid spare tire.

While we applaud their efforts, the duct tape spare does ring a bell, though this one is holding up much better.
