Chevy Blazer SS Rendering: Would You Want This?

With Ford slapping ST badges on all its crossovers, it’s only a matter of time until Chevy starts doing the same by expanding its performance-oriented SS lineup to include CUVs.

Our friends at ChevyBlazer.org have released a rendering of what they think a Chevrolet Blazer SS would look like. Taking some inspiration from a Bumblebee Camaro, the Blazer SS in the rendering looks loud in large 21-inch wheels and a yellow and black getup. A quad exhaust, lowered suspension, and blacked out trim elements can also be seen.

If it actually gets put into production, we doubt the Blazer SS would use the 455-hp V8 that powers the Camaro SS because it’s unlikely to fit on the Blazer’s platform, which is built for front or all-wheel-drive vehicles. Instead, it will likely use the 3.0L turbo V6 found in other GM products. In the CT6, it makes 404 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, a healthy upgrade over the V6 Blazer’s 306 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. With the 3.0L turbo V6, it would make more power than the Ford Edge ST.

Is a Chevy Blazer SS something you’d consider buying or do you think the SS badge should be reserved for dedicated sports cars like the Camaro? But also, would you want to see a Trax or Equinox SS? Traverse SS? What about a Tahoe SS? Let us know in the comments below!
