Ford Slashes Mustang Mach-E Prices In The U.S. And Canada

Ford dips its toes in the new EV price war.

The Mustang Mach-E may be a great car to drive, but it’s not exactly been the best deal in the segment. That fact has been only made worse with price cuts on the Tesla Model Y, in which sizable price cuts of up to $13,000, slipped way under the Mustang Mach-E’s pricing. Ford isn’t content to let that slide, though. It has cut pricing for the Mach-E in both the United States and Canada.

The price cuts are more modest than Tesla, though. The biggest price cut goes to the GT Extended range Mach-E, which is $63,995, $5,900 cheaper than before. Most pertinently, the Premium standard eAWD and RWD have price cuts that put them under the $55,000 IRS EV tax credit threshold, meaning, they’re now eligible for up to a $7,500 tax credit. The Select AWD standard range has the smallest price cut, only $600 cheaper than before.

Canada also get some pricing adjustments, with the Premium RWD (both standard and extended range) getting price cuts of $8,500 CAD.

“We are not going to cede ground to anyone. We are producing more EVs to reduce customer wait times, offering competitive pricing, and working to create an ownership experience that is second to none,” said Marin Gjaja, Chief Customer Officer of Ford’s Model E division, via press release. Gjaja insists that the move is to make EVs more accessible to everyone, and not necessarily in response to the price cuts from Tesla.

Mach-E customers who placed orders after January 1, 2023, will get price adjustments, or an offer from Ford if they’ve already taken delivery of their vehicle.
