The Entry-Level Lucid Air Pure Rolls Of Line, Goes To Customers Right Before End Of 2022

It certainly will be a New Year’s Eve some new Lucid Air owners won’t ever forget.

The Lucid Air has certainly been a critical darling here at Autoguide, but we’ve been adamant that it’s very high price has locked out many from experiencing the goodness of the Lucid Air. Well, now its base model, dubbed Pure, has finally started rolling off assembly lines, with the first few customers receiving cars in a special delivery ceremony at its Millbrae, California, and Torrence, California studios.

The Lucid Air Pure stands out from the rest of the lineup, by being the cheapest Lucid Air one can buy, starting at $87,500, not including destination. The Pure doesn’t get the huge panoramic glass canopy roof or the relentless 800+ horsepower of the Touring Performance or Grand Touring Performance, either. It also only has synthetic PureTex leather and a smaller battery than its larger siblings.

Still, the Lucid Air Pure can achieve an impressive 410 miles of range, and still sprightly 3.8 seconds from 0-60 from its 480 twin-motor setups. However, it appears that most of these Lucid Air Pure editions were at least $5,500 more expensive than the base $87,500 since Lucid hasn’t started producing the single-motor Lucid Air Pure variant yet.

In theory, now that the manufacturer is producing its full line of vehicles (except the single-motor Lucid Air variants) the brand can continue on the path to profitability; it has recently and publicly struggled with profits with some customers disappointed with long wait times for the lower priced variants.
