Someone upstairs has it in for the Hellcat. Maybe the demonic name draws scorn from the powers above, because for the second time in as many Hellcat lapping opportunities, it poured rain.

LOVE IT

  • Acceleration
  • Sound
  • Looks
  • Price

LEAVE IT

  • Could it be too much power?
  • Needs more rear tire
  • Gasoline addiction

The hellcat has 707 hp at the crank not rear wheels so take a 15% loss and the power to the rear wheels is more like 600 hp. That said its the most powerful sedan on the planet and close to the numbers of the new Z06 LT4 650/650 hp/torque with claimed 0-60 ringing in at 2.95 on stock tires. For the hellcat to be so close and weighing 1000 lbs more its a .5 second advantage at the drag strip when hp/wgt is calculated. I can just imagine the premiums dealers will be adding over msrp since the hellcat Challenger has pricing of $78k but some more ethical dealers are selling at msrp. Once my vette is sold I will be ordering a hellcat Charger hopefully in 2016 with a new blue like the 2012 Challenger SRT 8. I sent over a request for a carbon fiber package like the corvette 360 degrees plus the hood. Then comes the wheel options that don't include offset chromes or colors hoping they offer a few. If the hellcat don't sell well we just may see some on dealers lots as leftovers and hefty discounts like the current GT500 ZL1 and SRT8 muscle cars. I checked out auto trader and even 2013s are still for sale.
