Prototypes appeared shortly and the KdF-Wagen was released in 1938. The KdF-Wagen would later become known as the Beetle and go on to sell in the millions.

Is Volkswagen’s entry-level crossover too late and too expensive to compete with the competition from Toyota and Honda, or will the SUV’s build-quality help it carve out a spot in this ultra-competitive segment?
Volkswagen Hybrid Car Reviews

The original hot hatch is back and with enhancements in almost every conceivable area, it’s well worth another look.
Volkswagen Coupe Reviews
Volkswagen is paying a tribute to the 1970s with a version of the Beetle that has an awful lot of flair.

Quickly branded a “chick car,” especially the convertible model, with its latest redesign the bubbly two-door has received more masculine styling but is it enough to attract male buyers or is it still estrogen on wheels?
