On Wednesday, January 18 2012, the North American International Auto Show will be hosting Education Day, which provides school kids of all age groups the chance to attend the show and learn all about the automotive industry.

Education day, which is co-hosted and sponsored by PNC Bank, in conjunction with the show, includes an hour long “A World of Opportunities” event in which some 225 Detroit Public Schools pre-K students are provided with PNC “Grow Up Great” educational materials. The students will also get some motivational speeches from Roy Roberts, emergency finance manager of Detroit Public Schools, Rick DeVore, PNC regional manager for South-Eastern Michigan and Bill Perkins, chairman of the North American International Auto Show.

PNC’s “Grow Up Great” which partners with the DPS and DPS foundation, is recognized as one of the most comprehensive early learning programs in America. Its through initiatives like these that the next generation will be able to learn about and ultimately embark upon a future in the automotive industry.
