Far from the first to jump in and help, Nissan announced it will offer relief contributions to those affected by the recent earthquakes in Italy.

Leaving 25 dead and many more injured, the earthquakes that started on May 20 have already prompted aid from other automakers. Ferrari conducted a charity auction, selling a 599XX Evo to raise money for the victims. Now Nissan says it will make a direct €100,000 cash contribution to the Red Cross’ relief effort and a 2012 Navara pickup truck (called a Frontier here) to help on the ground.

Nissan will also offer earthquake victims preferential pricing on a new car purchase to replace any vehicle lost during the disaster. That plan includes scrapping or swapping the old vehicle for a €1,500 discount regardless of the old car’s condition.
