The Lexus LF-LC Concept debuted at this year’s Detroit International Auto Show, which impressed not only us, but the general public, so much that the Japanese automaker has reportedly given the green light to send it into production.

No doubt looking to fill the void left with the discontinued SC 430 luxury sports coupe, the LF-LC will see a production variant within three years as Lexus continues trying to gain lost ground against German luxury rivals BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

Unfortunately at the time of its debut, the automaker kept quiet as to what would power the LF-LC, other than the fact that it will feature a next-generation hybrid powertrain.

Since its debut at the auto show however, Lexus has received overwhelming response from the general public that the LF-LC Concept must be made. And well, when the general public is that favored towards your next-generation sports coupe, your only move is to produce it. Hopefully it lives up to expectations once it hits our streets.
