Ford’s utilitarian Transit Connect van, which doubles as a five-passenger and possibly seven-passenger people mover or a two-seat commercial vehicle, will be updated globally as a 2014 model.

As these latest spy photos show, the car will feature a more car-like look with a revised fron fascia and new tail lights. The company will offer both a roof-hinged single hatch door as seen here and a split, side-hinged rear door for friendlier commercial functionality.

Other details about the van, which competes primarily with others like the Nissan NV, aren’t available as of yet, but given its frequent commercial functions, a bump in mileage over the current 22/27 mpg rating wouldn’t be a big surprise.
