Chevrolet has released the first out of a series of teasers for the upcoming 2014 Corvette, which will be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

This teaser is titled “conception,” and highlights the designing of the car, and how its form lends directly to its intended function. “The 2014 Corvette exterior was sculpted for optimal aerodynamic performance. Every line, every vent, every millimeter performs,” says the caption under the video.

The design of the car still remains to be seen, but what we have already seen is Chevy’s new LT1 small-block V8 that puts out around 450 hp with 450 lb-ft of torque. Also featured on the Vette’s new heart are direct fuel injection, variable valve timing and an 11.5:1 compression ratio.
