2021 Chevrolet Cars
General Motors’ volume brand, Chevrolet sells everything from small cars to full-size trucks. The Spark and Sonic anchor the sub-compact car lineup, offering some of the lowest MSRPs in the US and Canadian markets. Only the Spark remains in Canada however: the Sonic disappeared from that market in 2018.
Like its sister companies, Chevrolet has trimmed its car lineup over recent years. Gone are the hybrid Volt and compact Cruze, with the full-size Impala wrapping up for the 2020 model year. The Bolt EV remains, a compact hatchback boasting a healthy battery-powered range and attractive price tag.
Sports cars still live at Chevrolet, with the Camaro continuing to carry the affordable-performance torch. It comes with a choice of four engines, ranging from a turbocharged four-cylinder right up to a wild, 650 horsepower supercharged V8. The Corvette also received one of its biggest changes ever for 2020, moving to a new mid-engined platform. It offers supercar looks and performance at a starting price of under $60,000.
Chevrolet also offers a wide range of trucks and crossovers. From the best-selling Equinox, seven-seat Traverse, and new-for-2021 Tahoe and Suburban twins, there's something for every size and budget. The Silverado continues as GM's bread-and-butter truck, and now comes with more engine options, including a diesel. Plus, the Colorado makes an impressive entry to the mid-size pickup segment.
In terms of safety, for 2020 the Chevrolet Bolt EV and Equinox crossover earn a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Chevy was founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and Willian C. Durant with the mandate to build mainstream automobiles and compete against the Ford Motor Company’s Model T. Among Chevrolet’s claims to fame are the small-block V8, which has remained in continuous production since 1955.
