Subaru has experienced a strong surge in sales for over a decade that shows no signs of stopping. Lead by the brand’s SUVs, products like the Outback, Forester, and Crosstrek have proved to be an excellent value while also offering standard all-wheel drive. New for the 2022 model year are the additions of the Wilderness trim levels for the Forester and Outback that further enhance the vehicle’s off-road ability.
The Ascent joined the lineup a few years ago to provide a three-row option for shoppers. Subaru’s car offerings, the Impreza and Legacy, may not have the same sales success as the brand’s crossovers, but with standard all-wheel drive, they still have a loyal following. Especially in the snow belt.
Meanwhile the WRX is now Subaru’s performance car halo model, with the discontinuation of the WRX STI last year. The WRX is all-new for 2023 and features a torquier 2.4-liter turbocharged engine. The back-to-basics BRZ sports car slots below the WRX, and was all-new last year with a more powerful 2.4-liter engine.
