Volvo is testing out a new fast-charging station that will put charging times under two hours for the brand’s C30 electric car that is available in Europe.

“… If you don’t have enough time for a 1.5-hour charge, plugging in for just 30 minutes will give you enough power for another 80 kilometres of driving,” Lennart Stegland, vice president of electric propulsion systems at Volvo said.

The charger is noteworthy for being small enough to fit on board the car, while still providing three phase charging capability. Plugging in to a regular European 230 V outlet will take eight to 10 hours to get the vehicle to a full charge.
