Mercedes 'X-Class' Could Slot Between A-Class, Smart Car
Mercedes’ engine tie-up with Nissan might yield a new car for the German brand if a report proves to be true.
According to German AutoBild, the car will slot between the A-Class and Smart line while maintaining a more premium interior to avoid damaging Mercedes’ brand image. The same report also suggests the car would be offered with a 1.0-liter three cylinder engine or a 1.5-liter four.
Given that, and Mercedes’ CLA (pictured above) being bound of the U.S. market, it seems unlikely that the small Benz would reach American showrooms.
