What Time Does the Indy 500 Start?

The 97th Indianapolis 500 is storming the motorsport field by storm this weekend with the festivities kicking off Sunday, May 26 at 9:30 am EST with the 500 Festival Princesses Lap.

But for those that care about the race, engines will be fired up at 12:04 pm EST with the 500 mile, 200-lap race kicking off at precisely 12:12 pm EST.

Ed Carpenter, Carlos Munoz, and Marco Andretti will be heading the field at the start, while EJ Viso, AJ Allmendinger, and Will Power will be behind in the 4, 5, and 6 spots respectively.
