Nothing should move this quickly, but thank goodness it does. Porsche just announced that last minute “tuning measures” given to the 918 Spyder shave the car’s 0-60 sprint to 2.5 seconds.

That marks a 0.2-second reduction over previously advertised figures. Porsche also says with the Weissach package, its new halo car will run from 0 to 124 mph in 7.2 seconds and 186 in 19.9 seconds. Running on electricity alone, the company says it will run to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.2 seconds. Slice off another 0.1 with the Weissach package.

Last September, Porsche stunned the automotive world by not only setting a new lap record at the Nurburgring, but shattering the old one with a 6:57 “ring” time.

To recap; the car uses a pair of electric motors mounted above the axles. That combined with a combined with a mid-mounted 4.6-liter V8 make 887 hp. It offers five different drive modes depending on what sort of response the driver wants: E-Power, Hybrid, Sport Hybrid, Race Hybrid and Hot Lap, the last of which unleashes the car’s full potential.

It doesn’t come cheap, either. Well equipped wit the Weissach package, customers will spend over $1 million to take one home.
