2015 Corvette Z06 Leaked

2015 Corvette Z06 Leaked

This is it! The spectacular 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

Looking stunning in an appropriate shade of yellow (the official color of Corvette Racing) the Z06 promises to be the most track-capable Corvette ever with 620 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque!

Exactly how that amount of power will be generated isn’t confirmed but it’s believed Chevy will use a supercharged V8 – the high torque number seems to suggest forced induction.

Either way, the power bump is a significant increase over the factory 455 hp in the Stingray and that torque figure actually puts the new Z06 ahead of the ZR1.

But the Z06 is far more than just a horsepower upgrade. Notable design elements featured in the leaked photos show a massive carbon fiber rear spoiler, while perhaps more dramatic is the carbon fiber front splitter that integrates into the front fenders, pushing air over the front wheels to improve downforce.

The front angle of the Z06 also reveals large air intakes, likely used to cool what are no doubt up-sized brakes.

Look for more info on the Corvette Z06 when it debuts Monday, January 13th.

In 2013, the all new Stingray was “it’s about time Chevy” feeling in terms of every aspect of the Corvette line but the 2014… this could override my desire for a 911 Porsche. I would almost agree about the tail lights (very Camaro-ish) but the evolution of this icon is what Corvettes are all about and I think that’s an area that a photo won’t do it justice.

Either way they did this because of the SRT Viper which came directly from the Boss…lol but then again what appens when they add a supercharger to the SRT?lol

  • HammerKrusher

everyone and their mother has a corvette….the new Vipers look way better, and they are not as common to see.

All my 2005 Corvette got me was a speeding ticket. I learned my lesson and had a radar detector installed. I don’t see how all this speed is of much value unless you run it on a track. But I will have to admit I love the way my 2005 Corvette convertible looks. I keep it because I see it like another person might see value in a work of art. Otherwise, I drive it just enough to keep the battery from going dead.

Would love the power, but honestly, I’m not all that crazy about the redesigned Vette. I like smooth and sleek much more than all the “cut” lines on it.

Always been a Ferrari or Porsche fan — never much a Corvette fan, but this car makes me a huge fan. Great design and style. People have knocked the tail lights, but they go with the car.

  • Ed

Should put it in the mid 11’s for quarter mile time and 0-60 in about 3.8 – 3.9 seconds.

  • bosman47

I wanted to comment on the posting from Ed. Hi Ed…..I have a 2003 ZO6 with 405hp and 400 ftlbs of torque. I have performed several 0-60 runs each year (never slower than 3.8 second. I pulled a 3.7 in 2006 at Epping Speedway in NH. Qtr mile time. the average is 12.1. I did a 12.0 flat two years ago. Plus, it is a fantastic track car. The new ZO6 will be in the 3.0 second range and high 10’s…..The car only weight 3,200 lbs. Chevy did their homework on this car. The price will probably be well over $100M. Have a great week.

Still hate the “camaro” tail lights.

    still a shitty vette pushrod
